Robert & Melba Meyers (13 AR) Well, another year has passed and not a very good one. We missed the Denver Reunion as we had to admit Bob to a Nursing Home in May. He has both Alzheimer and Parkinson disease, so is in pretty bad shape. He lives the war over from Ft. Knox thru Italy. Also delivers Coca Cola which he did for 42 years.

Its sad to see him go thru all this, but it is Gods will and we just take it day by day and hope for the best.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Leo DuBois, always enjoyed his story telling. Also very glad to see, that Bob Johnson is now the president of the Assoc. We know he will do a good job.

Betty K. Meyer (13 AR) Thanks so much for sending me a copy of the Memorial Service of the 53rd reunion. Walter was a strong supporter of the 1st Armored Div. and attended reunions as long as he was able. Grateful to all 1st Armored Div. Assoc. Members, who keep our organization going.

George & Audrey Clark (1 AR) Thank you for your work for the Association. We do appreciate the Bulletins. George is 81 years old now and does not travel anymore. We did enjoy the Reunions we attended in the past.

Raymond Willis (6 INF) Well another year has come and gone. Time is really slipping away, dont know where it goes, if only the time went by when we were lying in the foxholes at Anzio and all those other places. You guys that were in the 1st Armored Div. know what I mean.

Hiram J. Lloyd (1 TK) Hello, our Western Winter Weather has been very kind to us. Lots of sunshine also. My wife is doing much better, has been in the hospital for some time. Her ill health has kept us from doing very little traveling the last few years. Will try to make the 55th Reunion. The best to all.

Ida May & Curtis Couch (1 AR) We had to give up our apartment in Asst. Living as Curtis continues down hill with no cure for PSP similar to Lou Gehrig & a Parkinson disease. He no longer talks or walks and needs complete care. Went to nursing home side Oct. 7th and  I have moved in with our youngest son for the winter at least. Still have my car and go to home ( 4 miles ) every day and feed Curtis. He knows what goes on and shakes head yea or no and points. Hope all is well with you and yours and keep up the good work for good old 1st Armored Division. We have so many lovely memories and dreams of all the reunions and great friends and are grateful.

Gene Mattingly Im trying to get any information or suggestions for further research on the 1st AD 68th Field Artillery. My Grandfather, Argus Mattingly served proudly with the 1st AD in WWII. He was very ill and passed away March 9, 2001. He is (was) my Hero and I long to learn all I can about his service to our great nation. Any information would be helpful, and I thank you for any efforts on my behalf. Blessings, Gene Mattingly, Captain, USAF. E-mail:Mattinglyfamily@msn.com or 1254A Palau Loop, Yigo, Guam 96929

John Strong ( son of Hurschel Strong 6 INF. CO. C) Dad celebrated his 80th birthday in Sept. 2001 and is doing well. Since the terrorist attack I do believe he would Re-UP if Uncle Sam would let him. I can see in him now the spirit of that twenty one year old kid that was at the Kasserine Pass, Oran, Anzio. I am very proud of my Father.  I hope I can find one of his buddies: Hardin (Hardrock) Haynes, 47th MED  he was from Granite City, MO.

Carlo Mondani  I am writing the history of my province during WWII. For this reason Im trying to collect any testimony and photos of the American and German veterans who on April 22 and 23, 1945 were fighting in Modena, Po Valley. I would greatly appreciate personal recollections on the events that took place from 19 to 23 April, 1945 between Samoggia Valley ( villages of Savigno, Ponzano, Zappolino, Bazzano, Crespellano) and Modena. If you can assist me in any way regarding the pictures of the area and personal recollections, I will be forever grateful.
